Our morning ran smoothly with stations. Raz-Kids, eSpark, Read to Self, Word Study (spelling), and Word Work (exclamation and command sentences). I had a chance to do some one minute reading with students today as well. We have some amazing readers in our class. This will be fun to develop stronger comprehension skills and writing skills.
Speaking of writing, we are working on a writing trait of Organization. Today we needed to put together some sentences from a story. The first time we read the cards, they weren't even sentences. Then, we made sentences recognizing capitals and punctuation. Finally, the sentences were put into the correct order of events from the story! It was fun and now they have a better idea for how important organizing our words are in our writing.
The afternoon was interrupted just for a few moments to have a fire drill! Our class was fantastic, be proud of your child for staying quiet and respectful!
Our math stations will run for two days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Today they needed to order numbers as a team, Dreambox, eSpark math, practice place value, and discovering different ways to represent numbers.
Tonight is our first PTO meeting at 6:30. Tomorrow is PICTURE DAY!
