Our morning stations were set up a little differently. The students were asked to practice their neatest writing by generating a list of what they needed to accomplish during the station work time. You can see the list tonight, it went home. Once they accomplished a task from the list, they could put a check mark next to it. This is helping them get organized. This skill will come in handy next year and years to come for keeping track of a daily agenda and what homework they may have if it didn't get accomplished during the day. I'm trying to help them get a better feel of managing their independent work time without using a twenty minute time limit. Some still needed extra time to work and others needed to slow down for quality and clarity of directions. We will get there.
This afternoon, the students worked in groups to practice sorting coins, adding on with coins, using place value to regroup double digit numbers in addition equations, and of course working on their individual plans in Dreambox and eSpark. I'm going to see how the next couple of days go and if the students feel ready to be assessed on this unit, I'd like to do that on Friday.
I enjoyed having lunch today with some lovely ladies! Thanks for using your hard earned money, I'm the luckiest teacher around!
We also had a good turn out of friends remember to wear their spirit wear shirt. I have also included a photo of the school wide spirit days below.
Enjoy the evening!
