Happy St.Patrick's Day! Take a look at this sea of green!

It was a wonderful Friday in room 23!
I know some have been wondering if we are going to do another LUNCH BUNCH BOOK CLUB! Yes, we are! These first few months of the new year always seem to have interruptions. I have found it best to wait. So, you can watch for a book club order form to come home on Monday. If you plan to order any books as gifts, just send me an email and I will hold them for you. They do make wonderful gifts! Our book will be Judy Moody, April Fools', Mr. Todd! If you want to order over the weekend, just visit the scholastic news website. Be sure to use our class code: MF84R when ordering. Also, take a look at clearance books online as well. I am going to send the order through on Wednesday, March 21st. This should allow the books to arrive before the break, the following week.
We will then hold the Lunch Bunch Book Club upon our return after the break. The kids can read the book while school is out.
We enjoyed our Speed Math Ice Cream Celebration today! Each child received a medal for their hard work and enjoyed an ice cream sundae. We had two students complete all 16 levels and even a bonus level. They completed addition, subtraction (both with regrouping), multiplication and division. There were several students who accomplished 14 and 15, of which I am so proud of them! Level 7 was probably the trickiest of all. That one had the double digit with regrouping in subtraction. Please do continue to practice that lifelong skill on a regular basis with your child. It will be important.
We worked with telling time today. Most have a good understanding of the hour and half hour. Now is the time to practice telling time to the five minutes/minutes. Also to practice elapsed time.
We will do some graphing work and measuring next week along with telling time.
Have a wonderful weekend!
