Our last full day of second grade went by quickly! The morning was filled with a show and tell from Kourtney K. She really shared some great treasures from her Florida trip.
The students are bringing home their first and last picture from second grade today. You can really see how they have changed. It was fun for them to see it as well. Tomorrow is a half day! We will once again be busy in our classroom. Dismissal will be at 11:29. Friday is the final day of the school year. Dismissal will be at 11:29. Our class along with all second grade will enjoy a celebration together. This will give them all a chance to sign each others notebooks/yearbooks, play some games together, read in the shade, and simply enjoy the time before sending them off for the summer break. Enjoy the evening! Our morning ran very smoothly. Watch for a summer bucket list to come home today. Along with a note from me about how to encourage summer writing!
We enjoyed doing some fun stations today to keep us in routine. I enjoyed having lunch with some of our lovely ladies. It was fun to see that they are still willing to have lunch with me! Avery brought in a show and tell after buying a coupon yesterday. She enjoyed telling us all about some Florida treasures. We enjoyed seeing the high school students who recently graduated today. They were all former Morgan students. The entire school did a clap out wishing them well. Tomorrow afternoon is the sixth grade softball game. Students are encouraged to wear their class t-shirts. We will enjoy a Kona Ice treat in the afternoon as well. Thursday and Friday are both half days this week. Enjoy the evening! We continue to work hard and be kind in room 14. The class had a chance to spend their Excellence Dollars today. Some will also spend tomorrow. Congratulations to Jennifer (over $300) and Ellyana (over $200) who saved their money. I think we have some future investment brokers!
The class did some history and science about sunscreen and other summer safety tips. From the Scholastic News, we then did a little writer's workshop. Take a look at how cute these turned out! We will continue with some summer fun stuff tomorrow! Enjoy the night. What a great day in room 14! The students did well with some informational reading, taking a trip to our very own nature center, doing some real world math, and getting compliments everywhere we went today for good behavior choices! I also enjoyed eating a quiet lunch with Jenna after she bought a coupon.
Enjoy the weekend. |
