Today we expanded our vocabulary to recognize the word Constitution. Today is Constitution Day across America. We watched a short video on what our Constitution is. Then, a short clip on how to fold our American Flag respectfully. The children worked on a packet that was sent home today to talk over with you. Please ask them some questions about our freedom to vote, have an army to protect us, own land, and little about fair trade (our economics).
The children are working hard to start our station rotations. Today, I introduced Word Study (spelling). We read the words this week all about short a and short i words. I told them I did not want them to hard while we are learning routines. I want them be successful without anxiety of testing. You should see the words come home today in their folders.
We had a lost tooth happen over the weekend. Aubrey was very excited to tell me about it today.

The next set of photos below are some volunteers who were excited to share some of their writing with us. Each day we Work On Writing. We write to become better writers and readers. We write because it is fun, and fun to share with others. I love seeing the progress of second grade writers.
