This week has been fun with force! Today they all had a chance to try a yo-yo! Some were very natural at this using push and pull. Others, thought it would be easy, then realized it was a bit more challenging. If you are looking to add to any gift ideas, a really nice yo-yo might be perfect! The satisfaction on their faces were priceless as they discovered the gravity pull and push!
Talking about gravity, we will be starting states of matter in I.S.M. This is such a fun unit for the students. We talked about atoms this week briefly. This science concept will continue for the next few weeks, as we finish the second marking period.
We started our measurement and geometry unit this week. We have explored 2-D shapes and introduced vocabulary for 3-D shapes. The children explored using centimeters and inches as well.
We enjoyed celebrating Olivia's birthday today. Her actual day is Sunday, but she wanted to be recognized today!
Congratulations to Dominik W., he lost a tooth!
Have a wonderful weekend and if you are out and about, please consider donating to our hat and mitten tree or Toys for Tots. Any toys brought in, will be counted toward a friendly competition between classes in the school. The class with the most toys, will win a pizza party! That might be fun to have a pizza party in room 14! Not to mention the lesson we will teach our children about giving back to others.
