Today was filled with awesome learning! The morning stations included a Scholastic News about fire safety. The students worked in pairs to read together and answer some comprehension questions. Using BrainPopJr, they explored a little more about caring for pets. We also did a sorting lesson on living and non-living things.
This afternoon, the children practicing seeing how odd and even fall into patterns. We also looked at how doubles in addition will always be an even number and doubles plus one are odd. Hopefully, you at home are seeing those patterns with our weekly homework packets. Some children have a little homework from odd and even work if they didn't complete in the station time.
Next week we will have some fun with fall leaves and how families work together. We will build on our understanding of number sense to understand word problems and finding some strategies that feel right.
Have a wonderful weekend. Thank you again for all the donations from the color run and for the participation in our spirit week in honor of Eisenhower High School Homecoming game tonight.
