The last math homework packet came home today. We will start a new weekly homework for the second part of the year at the start of the third marking period. I've very pleased with how dedicated the students have been for their weekly work. Thank you for the support at home. You are setting your child up for success!
We welcomed a new friend to our class today. Once I have permission from his family to share on our class site, I will post a photo. But until then, please be sure to ask your child about making a new friend today. I think we made him feel welcomed and comfortable!
Please do send hats and gloves to school on these cold days. We only go outside for recess when it is 10 degrees or warmer. That includes the windchill. So today, we stayed in. I'm guessing the rest of the week we will have indoor recess. However, getting to the bus and walking home is very cold, so please send what your child needs and label everything! Gloves start to look alike around here.
I have put off taking the math test for addition with larger numbers. That was because before the break, we had several students out regularly. Today, we did a review and the test will be tomorrow. I really think they are ready and we will move into larger numbers for subtraction next.
We will hold off on new spelling words until next week. So watch for them on Monday! We start unit three: Earth's Forces. This is always a great unit for second grade! Lots of science and social studies.
The students presented their animal reports today in ISM. They did very well! The reports will come home this week.
Enjoy the night and stay warm!
