A busy couple of days here in room 23. We celebrated Dawn's birthday with some extra recess. The students are doing very well with understanding fractions, sequencing events, looking at cause and effect, and ABC order past the first letter.
We have been practicing the Key of Flexibility. Our school was short substitute teachers today. We hosted Mrs. Sandison's class this afternoon. It was a little extra chatty, but we all did just fine. Plus a little extra recess added to the excitement. It seems like we may have a few germs floating around the room. Watch for Pink Eye symptoms, stomach flu, and hard coughs. We have been washing our hands, cleaning our desks, and getting some fresh air in hopes that we can all stay healthy. But between sharing one small space with extra classes, we have pushed our biography writing back. I will make adjustments to their requirements because of the lost time. They are very excited about this. Thank you again for your hard work in helping them research!
I love this time of year to see the amazing growth that has taken place with your children. They have grown a few inches, their faces look older, they are more responsible with their belongings and actions. Plus, the academic growth is always awesome. Next week we have our Unit Five Theme Test. We will also be doing several writing pieces for district data. One will be an opinion writing piece. This week in their Write and Tells, they have expressed something they are good at. This has been a perfect lead in to an opinion writing piece.
We will be NWEA testing in the coming weeks. Please do be sure to continue to offer a good breakfast and healthy snack for brain power!
Enjoy the sunshine while we have it!
