If your child comes home today ready to talk your ear off, it's because they were asked to be as quiet as can be today in class. Our third grade neighbors, who share a soft panel wall with our class, was busy taking the M-Step today. In order for them to be able to really concentrate and focus, we were asked to keep our classroom noise level to a minimum. I'm very pleased to say that they did! And to celebrate their respectful determination, tomorrow they can bring in a game from home or an electronic. During our station time, they can play on their device and/or play a game.
This was a tough quiet challenge. Some children needed gentle reminders throughout the day, but all-in-all, I was able to give them all a big "Hip-Hip-Hooray!"
I enjoyed eating lunch with some students who cashed in $20 Excellence Dollars. It was so pleasant to have that time with them and just talk about stuff!
On June 1, the school is looking for some volunteers to help in our Nature Center. Morgan is fortunate to have a nature preserve right on the property. For many years, this was maintained by volunteers. However, over the past ten years or so, it has been neglected. Our current PTO has been working with volunteers, scouts, teachers, and now, hopefully YOU, to get this back in visiting order. It would be wonderful for our students to be able to explore this right on the property. Thus, if you are free for an hour or two on June 1, please plan to participate in this event.
REMEMBER, Monday, May 27 is Memorial Day, no school.
Have a nice evening.
