It was a glorious day with all 27 students in attendance. Hooray!
Please watch for some math homework today. We just ran out of time to do one of the papers together. The sheet says "quiz" but I was planning to do it as a class, so feel free to help your child work through the front and back. This will give you an idea of what we are working on in class.
We did not have ISM this afternoon due to a shortage of substitute/guest teachers. If you happen to know anyone looking for some work, please have them consider becoming a guest teacher. Spring is a busy time for last minute conferences for teachers to be pulled from the classroom. We are thankful for Mrs. Borbolla who doubled up her art class and we enjoyed an extra time with being creative!
Keep practicing contractions with your child. We did some review things this week so far and some are struggling with were to place the apostrophe. A little game or two is very helpful at this young age to grasp that concept.
Spelling words this week all make the same sound of "aw". Be sure they see clue letters to help them know which letters work together.
Write and Tells this week have been AMAZING! I'm really seeing great improvements in their writing. The children are remembering to indent at the start of their paragraph and some are even doing two or three paragraphs! I can tell when children are getting support to expand their vocabulary. The word choices are interesting and keeping focussed and on topic. A big round of applause!
Enjoy the evening!
