It was great to have everyone back in class today. We have had some strep throat, sneezing, coughing, and a little bit of stomach flu going around lately. Please do remind your child to wash their hands as soon as they get home from school to help keep healthy habits.
Today, they may be coming home with some wet feet. With this slight warm up, our playground is wet. I would suggest you have a conversation with your child about wearing their boots outside, even when it is a little warmer. Maybe even snow pants if they tend to fall down or want to play in the grass area.
I'm sure you've noticed by now, we do not have any spelling words this week. Upon our return from the winter break, we start Unit 4. Watch for new spelling words to start then. We will also begin to wrap up the three digit addition and subtraction to get started with telling time and using money. Our week back will be review and a test for 3-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping. This is a Michigan State Standard that children in second grade need to master by the end of the year. If your child is struggling, please continue to work with them. We will be revisiting this for the rest of the year as well.
If you would like your child to have a yearbook, please be sure to order it by March 9th. They usually arrive near the end of the school year in June. But we do not order any additional yearbooks.
TOMORROW IS BAGEL DAY! If you preordered bagels at the beginning of the year, your child will be receiving it during the morning.
Take a peek at George and I enjoying lunch together today. He cashed in some Excellence Dollars and we enjoyed a quiet lunch together.
Have a wonderful evening!
