The children are officially working through their day with stations. Our morning stations are language arts, science, and social studies skills. These include small group instruction daily with me (which could be reading, writing, grammar, spelling, science, social studies), individualized instruction on iPads with eSpark, a variety of sites on our laptops (like BrainPopJr, Raz-Kids, ConnectEd, DiscoveryEd, abcya.com), partner reading, reading to self, work on writing, grammar skills, and spelling skills.
Our afternoon stations are math. These include small group instruction with me, technology sites, eSpark, hands-on manipulatives, paper/pencil tasks, white board tasks, and more.
Throughout the day I have whole group instruction as well.
If your child brings home daily work as homework, it means they did not have time at their station to complete their work. This could probably be because they were talking and not using their time wisely. On occasion, I will ask them to complete their work before going for recess (which amazingly usually only take about 3-5 minutes to complete). If you start to see work coming home daily, we may need to meet and talk about this in regards to your child and their needs.
Take a peek at our math stations today!
Have a great night.
