The rain kept us indoors today. While there is a slight break, be sure to have your children outside for some fresh air if at all possible. We will see what tomorrow holds!
We had a few more lost teeth happen and some great readers who wanted to share.
We met our high school cadet from Ike today. Miss. Libby is a senior with lots of pets, several siblings, and loves the color blue! We are happy to have her helping in our classroom this year on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Tomorrow is our first spelling test. I will give lots of support if needed. But, really, the words are not too challenging because it is really more about routine and structure. I also do not want them to worry. We will do a grammar check up each week too. This will be modeled for the first couple of weeks, then I will be using it as an assessment on how they did with the weekly grammar expectations. If I see areas of weakness, I will be sure to revisit the skills the following week to reinforce their needs.
Next week, please send in a small baggy of pennies and dimes. We are working with groups of tens and using real money to help with this concept is very successful. Be sure to put your child's name on the container. I'd like that loose change in by Tuesday.
We have a book fair next week coming to Morgan! Our day to shop will be Thursday morning during our Media Center time. If you are free next week and would like to volunteer, please feel free to come up to the school and help out. There are shoppers every day Monday-Thursday. If you can help Friday morning, that will be take down and pack up time. Many hands makes for lighter work. WE LOVE VOLUNTEERS!
Next Thursday evening is our Parent Curriculum Night. It will begin in the gym at 7:00pm. There will be two sessions to visit with classroom teachers for those who have more than one child at the school.
Picture Day is Wednesday!
Have a wonderful night!
