Please do send in an empty container of some sort. Anything with a hollow center. Examples: toilet paper tube, paper towel tube, Pringles can, soup can emptied and carefully cleaned so there are not sharp edges, an oatmeal container, things like that. We will explore vibrations and be creative on how we can use a variety of materials to build a drum.
We will have our spelling test and a grammar check up. This week seemed a little quick, so I will guide them through carefully their grammar skills test. They are doing well with the start of our Speed Math. If you see it come home with a big star, they move on. If they have some circled on incomplete, they stay there until they master it in three minutes. Once everyone earns their bowl and spoon, I will make adjustments to time limits and challenging skills. I want this to be a challenge, but not so difficult that they do not feel accomplished. I'm letting them know each day that not everyone will earn the entire sundae. But hopefully with some extra practice this month, everyone gets to enjoy ice cream in March!
Next week Wednesday is Valentine's Day. We have 26 students in our class. If you want to address each envelope, let me know and I will send you a name list. But otherwise, if your child signs each card, we will have them pass them out carefully so everyone receives one. Don't forget to put together something to collect them in.
Have a wonderful evening, and be safe!
