Hello Families,
Having rain the past couple of days has been new for us. The students had a chance to do some indoor recess activities like: Legos, action figures, computers, iPads, free draw, white boards, and simply having extra time to talk with their new friends. I will introduce our game and puzzle cabinet once we have extended indoor breaks with cold weather.
Yesterday, Miss. Newton shared a story with the class and the children had time to retell the story (the important details in order) using sentence strips. Then they were asked to write the setting, characters, and retell the beginning, middle, and end of the story in their words. This is a tough skill to master, but such a great way to start building strategies for comprehension.
Some children have some homework tonight. You might see a math paper and/or a grammar paper about the subject of a sentence. If you see those, please complete tonight and return tomorrow. Thank you for the support!
Tomorrow is a spelling test. These blends are a little tough for some of the children. I will give lots of hints to help them build confidence.
Have a wonderful night!
