It was so nice to be greeted today with so many smiles. The students really seemed to keep busy over the week we had off. I heard about Kalahari, Macomb Rec Center, special video games, time with friends and cousins, and even welcoming a new family member...Congratulations George for being a big brother to Luke! And to the entire family, it is always a Blessing.
Today was reviewed some classroom expectations, which they were very prepared for! So proud of them. We had very little violations today, yippee! I will set up a classroom reward for when the class goes three days in a row without violations, we will celebrate. I will talk it over with them tomorrow for our reward. PJ day, Movie and Popcorn, etc. We will brainstorm then vote.
LUNCH BUNCH BOOK CLUB! Initially, I was going to meet with the kids on Thursday. There is a conflict with some of our students so we will enjoy lunch together and talk about the book on WEDNESDAY. Happy reading if you have not completed it yet.
Just a friendly reminder, that we will be taking a class field trip on May 10th. All forms are due by this Thursday. I will draw the parent volunteers on Friday and notify those who are drawn. I so wish we could take everyone! However, the bus has limited seating and the program at the nature center is structured for small groups and can only accommodate our five parents. Because we have more than five parents willing to help us that day, I will need to hold a lottery. All names will be put into a basket and five names will be drawn. If something changes, please let me know as soon as possible so arrangements with another parent can be made.
This Friday we have a half day of school. Dismissal will be at 11:29. Our PTO is sponsoring a family event at MOD Pizza. It is tasty, quick, and 20% comes right back to our school!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are nearing the end of the third marking period. Report cards will be sent electronically to your email on file. If you would like to meet with me, please let me know so we can schedule some time together.
Enjoy the evening, I really do think warmer days will be coming!
